Will resizing make my photo blurry?

Not with this one. Shrinking an image means throwing away detail, and how that is done decides whether the result looks sharp or soft. This tool averages the discarded detail properly in two stages rather than simply dropping pixels, which is what causes the blurring and jagged edges you see elsewhere.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device, and your images are never sent to us or anyone else. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.

Can I resize without changing the shape?

Yes, and that is the default. Type a width and the height is worked out for you so nothing is stretched. If you specifically want a different shape, unlock the proportions with the button between the two boxes.

What happens if I make an image bigger?

You can, and the tool handles it properly, but no tool can invent detail that was never captured. Enlarging works reasonably for modest increases and gets progressively softer beyond that. Shrinking always gives better results than enlarging.

Why did my file get smaller as well as shorter?

Fewer pixels means less data to store, so a resized image is almost always a smaller file too. After resizing, the tool also saves it in whichever format is most efficient while still looking identical to the resized version.

Can I resize several images at once?

Yes. Add them all together and they are scaled by the same amount rather than forced to identical dimensions, so a mixture of portrait and landscape photos each keep their own proportions.

What size should I use for Instagram?

1080 by 1080 pixels for a square post, 1080 by 1350 for a portrait post, and 1080 by 1920 for a story. All three are in the ready-made list, so you do not need to remember them.
